The World Islands

The World Islands are the archipelago off the city's coast laid out in the shape of the continents, reclaimed before the slump and mostly empty since, with a resort district built on a few islands at its European end and the rest waiting. Homes here are hotel residences on those islands, reached by boat, and they trade as a market unlike any other in the city.

The place

The islands lie off the coast between the two Palms, reached by boat from the mainland's marinas, with the developed islands clustered at one end of the archipelago and the remainder sand. The resort district holds hotels, restaurants, a beach club and the residences, with the city's skyline across the water.

What you get

Apartments and villas in the resort district's branded residences, run as hotel residences with the operators' services, and, elsewhere in the archipelago, islands themselves. Nothing here is an ordinary home.

Who it suits

Buyers who want a resort residence on an island with the city across the water, run by an operator when they are away, and who are paying for the novelty knowingly. Buyers of islands, of whom there are few.

It suits people less well who want a home to live in, a school, a shop, or a car.
