Most cookie policies are long because most websites carry a great deal of tracking. This one is short because ours does not.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise you on your next page or your next visit. Some are needed to make a site work. Others exist to follow you around the web on behalf of advertisers. We use none of the second kind.
What this site stores in your browser
- Nothing, when you browse. Reading listings, reports and guides sets no cookies at all. We do not load Google Analytics, a Facebook pixel, or any advertising tracker, and the calculators keep the figure you type in the page's address rather than in your browser's storage.
- A sign-in cookie, for McCone staff only. Our team uses an internal system on this domain. It sets a cookie when a member of staff signs in, and never for a visitor.
Things on our pages that come from elsewhere
- The videos on our careers pages are embedded from YouTube through its privacy-enhanced player, which sets no cookies until you press play. Once you do, YouTube's own cookie policy applies.
- Page-speed measurement. We use Vercel Speed Insights to see how quickly our pages load. It records timings, not people, and sets no cookie.
How to control cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies in its settings. Because this site sets none for visitors, blocking them will not change anything you can do here.
Changes
If we ever add something that sets a cookie, we will say so here first, and the date at the top of the page will change. How we handle the details you give us directly is covered by our privacy policy.
