DAMAC Islands

Damac Islands is the developer's island-themed lagoon community on the desert side of the city, launched after its Mediterranean-themed one sold, with villages of townhouses and villas named for tropical islands around lagoons with beaches. It is, for now, an off-plan market almost entirely, and its second phase has its own guide.

The place

The community lies on the desert side of the city near the developer's other lagoon and golf communities, reached from the main roads that serve them, with the city a long drive. The plan is villages around lagoons with a central district of leisure and shops, built in phases; the first villages are being built.

What you get

Townhouses and villas in the developer's standard layouts, sold off-plan with handover dates some years out, themed village by village; and nothing taller. Nothing here is yet lived in.

Who it suits

Buyers who want a new townhouse or villa with water at the end of the street at a launch price and will wait for it. Investors, of whom there are many in the developer's communities.

It suits people less well who want to move in, who need a school or a shop within reach, or who work in the city.

Buying and renting here

The register here is a record of off-plan resales, filed against the plots, and this page reads them as the villa sales they are while keeping them apart from finished sales, of which there are none yet. Buyers should know the handover date, the payment plan remaining and the developer's record in its finished communities nearby. There is no letting market until the houses stand.
