H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, approved this development back in 2013 and its main contractors were Van Oord, Hyundai Contracting and Starneth Engineering. It was one of the first master-planned residential islands in Dubai.
